Founded in 1970, OBP Partners is a private real estate investment company with offices in Miami, FL and Boston, MA. OBP has built, owned, and operated manufactured housing, office, industrial, multifamily, retail and medical office properties throughout Florida, Massachusetts, New York, Colorado, Tennessee and Virginia, as well as water and wastewater utilities throughout Florida.

Dr. Schenkman has served as Chairman of OBP Partners since 2002 and has overseen the investments and management of OBP Partner’s real estate and water and wastewater utility portfolio since 1990. Prior to taking over as Chairman of OBP Partners, Dr. Schenkman was a leading Orthopedic Surgeon in Miami, Florida for over 20 years. His previous businesses include International Data Depository, a document storage and digital imaging company and Healthcare Environmental Services, and medical waste disposal company. Dr. Schenkman serves on the Board of Baptist Health South Florida Foundation, and has been a strong supporter of the Miami-Dade United Way, the South Florida Region of the American Committee for the Weizmann Institute of Science, the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Fund, and the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Dr. Schenkman received an M.D. from the University of Miami School of Medicine and B.S. from Emory University.

Mr. Schenkman has been with OBP Partners since 2010 and is responsible for new real estate investments and investment management. From 2008 to 2010, Mr. Schenkman sourced acquisitions for Saber Real Estate Advisors, a private equity fund based out of Westchester, New York and Miami, Florida. Prior to his time with Saber, Mr. Schenkman worked in Citigroup’s Real Estate Finance and Investment Banking Group where he originated and securitized various real estate debt commitments. Mr. Schenkman received a B.B.A from The George Washington University and received an MBA from Columbia Business School.

Mrs. Hechtkopf has been with OBP Partners since 2010, where she serves as General Counsel to OBP. From 2008 to 2010, Mrs. Hechtkopf was an attorney with Pathman Lewis, LLP, a Miami-based commercial litigation and real estate firm, and from 2006 to 2008, Mrs. Hechtkopf was an Assistant State Attorney with the Miami-Dade County State Attorney’s Office. Mrs. Hechtkopf has a B.B.A. and J.D. from Emory University, and was one of the first few South Florida attorneys to obtain the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP) credential.
